Planning Information
Permission to build or extend
A significant proportion of the Parish Council’s work is applications for permission to build or extend.
Planning permission is generally required to carry out any form of development. This includes the use of land and buildings as well as the construction or alteration of buildings. Planning permission is required to alter, extend or demolish all or part of a Listed Building or properties within a Conservation Area. Many small-scale alterations do not require planning permission. These are referred to as 'Permitted Developments'. The Government's Planning Portal (external link) provides information and guidance.
You need to apply for planning permission(external link) from Ashford Borough Council
Once an application has been submitted, the Parish Council will pass their comments. These comments must be taken into account by ABC when they determine the application. You can comment on a planning application (external link)
